Once upon a time I was a wee-nipper
There a plucky woman
Who always was on hand to satiate my thirst?
A tenacious woman of virtue,
She weathered my boyhood storms
Sparing my blushes when I erred
When I was under the weather
I sought asylum in the arms of my mother
Blemished sores incised on her feet
As she burned the candle at both ends
Traveling tirelessly far and wide
To put the prize on the table
As I grew up,
Her motherliness matured like wine
Her love became soft as silk
A priceless reservoir of wisdom
I fetched knowledge from her water
As I toddle in the journey of life
I look back with namaste and
Owe my achievements to her
My super woman
I am proud of my mother
My unsung heroine!
