‘Sun will rise and we’ll try again.’
That’s the problem,
I’ve been overlooked,
I don’t want the sun to rise again
Yet another reminder, sight of plight.
where is that I erred,
that cannot be forgiven.
I demand to know.
I’m done praying
listen, you whoever
what is it I’m paying?
Dust obscure the sky
nowise heard perhaps that’s why
I’m overlooked.
For I can see those wrapped in comfort
With feet above their hearts, umbrella,
Sunglasses and trash pin
Alive with hope.
I’m sick to my stomach. Groaning.
Yesterday’s breath I can’t take
Again, hold the night still and
Hide the faces of my kin.
