In Creative Corner, poetry

By face value it is sadness
because it is only you and only you
you have no one with you
if you need a hug, there is none to receive from
if you need to cry, there is no shoulder to lean on
if you need to laugh, there is no one to share a joke with.
loneliness
but is it that
or is there light at the end of the tunnel?
a moment of realisation
a moment of self reflection,
of understanding yourself more deeply by assessing oneself
where wrong and what to improve or learn from
on how to be better
like a kiss to the frog that turned it to royalty.
this too is it,
with knowing oneself comes energy
with knowing oneself comes a new breathe of air
to correct the mistakes
or to applaud oneself for “you did well,”
in essence a new dawn arrives
you arisen to grow bigger
or to continue being the best that you are.
