Karima msi mfano, Unijaliye hapano
Naandika shairino, Kwa kalamu yenye wino
Linumbia msifano, Shangazi Bi Majivuno
Wema ni mji wa kheri, Na utu uso na mwisho

Zamani mwezi wa tano, Linambia lako neno
“Mwanangu njoo hapano, Nikwambie jambo lino
Binadamu kama wano, Kishafanya mikutano”
Wema ni mji wa kheri, Na utu uso na mwisho

Siku moja majivuno, Aliletewa vinono
Akateta kwa mguno, Akafikwa na maono
Kumbe alifanywa chano, Akanaswa kwenye mbano
Wema ni mji wa kheri, Na utu uso na mwisho

Nakumbuka mapendano, Yali huru kwa maneno
Japo liruka kichwano, Nakwombea mwonekano
Rabana atiye kano, Kwenye wako ubongono
Wema ni mji wa kheri, Na utu uso na mwisho

Ulisema kwa maneno, Nifanyacho nipendeno
Ukanipa shingi tano, Nikacheze kwa kasino
Nani kati ya watano, Alojawa wema uno
Wema ni mji wa kheri, Na utu uso na mwisho

Mwisho mimi mefikano, Meishiwa na maneno
Kupitia zake ngano, Shangazi Bi Majivuno
Nauhisi mwisho huno, Kutoka kwa kisigino
Wema ni mji wa kheri, Na utu uso na mwisho.
