In Creative Corner, poetry

We walk on the calloused palms of our mothers;
Palms engraved with the proof of their toil.
We stand on the adept feet of our mothers;
Feet that walk distances to fend for their families.
We fight with our mothers’ strengths at our backs;
Backs that inspire us onward in our despair.
We cry on the soothing laps of our mothers;
Laps that carry us right from birth.
We sleep on the secure shoulders of our mothers;
Shoulders bent from carrying heavy loads.

And as we reach out to our mothers,
Mothers by blood and mothers by works;
We reach out for warriors at heart.
