Names chanted in a sequenced repetition of the great patriarchs of men
As the red Hereford’s share run into the soil, the patriarchs are alerted
Within the branches of heirs, a new bough grows in the tree of patriarchs
The chanted names welcome the new bride
These names are of clan, tribe and nation
Her cloak covered shoulder embodies ties of unity
The knot tied to her front tightens this truth in honour of the respected patriarchs
Today, two ends of different nations, come together as one
Tightly and tied, the knot ties a bond that assures the bough’s destiny
A bond for all futurity and eternity
She is crested with an ivory coloured isicholo
This crest dignifies her as his queen
He is crested with a beige coloured isicoco
This crest dignifies him as her king
Crested in dignity, their reign stands tightly bonded and nourished
The elderly women appraised this unity
As they showered them with a high pitched ululation
The sound of no lyric in song, in song of no lyric
The sound of the spirit awakening of the awakening spirit
The sound of echoed rhythmic pride of echoed rhythmic pride
A while long and afar from this joyous moment, the bough has been blessed with a twig
A soft harmonious sound of the nightfall lullaby brought her to a deep sleep
