I want to be a child,
I want to be able to sleep when it’s bedtime,
I want to go to a playground
Ride a merry-go-round,
Run when no one’s behind me
Hang on my father’s shoulder,
Having his hands locked in mine for security
Smile when someone says my dress looks pretty,
I want my only fears to be of boogeyman and blackouts
Whether or not my friends will show up for my tea party.
