In Creative Corner, poetry

My house is no longer a home,
My friends fear for what I have become
Some say I was a fool to fall for you,
But beware of what love can make you do.
You kept feeding me lies, in every word, every phrase,
I was a rat running around in your little maze.
When I was overwhelmed by love,
You were planning your next move.
Hopeless and helpless I wander around,
Smoke, drugs and booze can’t stay off my mind.
I do not recognise myself anymore,
People say I resemble a creature from a lore.
Painful it is, down to my last bone
To accept the truth, that you are gone,
Go on my love, I wish he loves you better,
Go on my love, I wish I had known better.
