Rivers of blood and mountain of corpses
Some-times caused by one man’s greed and ambitions
They sing songs of glory
Yet the battlefront is no place for glory
Just death and pain
Just sleepless nights and awful food
War breeds death and chaos
A great many are left in pain and anguish
The unassuming soldiers on the frontline while the leaders hide in their castles
Either win or lose, they all lose in the end
Families who are left destroyed
Children without fathers
Women without husbands
Daily they march to battle knowing not whether this is their last fight or not
They sing songs of patriotism hoping they are fighting a good fight
War is cruel and most times there is nothing you can do about it
We can only pray and hope
And keep the candlelight burning
So that we may become torches of hope.
