Mythical immortal of resilience
Her breast, an incessant fountain flowing into famished mouths
Her love, priceless as Nico Mbarga’s Sweet Mother
Cuddles orphans saddled on horses of societal apathy
She, a hen that nurtures her chicks
She, Christ, slain for her clan to breathe
Her river of tears drowns the world to success
Her Psalms of joy illuminate life’s candle in the wind
Hail to thee, unsung heroine
Bless thee whose garden of compliments isn’t barren
Who sweats in life’s vineyard without pay
Truly, her salary is when her larva can fly
Her face is the bin of public garbage
Her heart the sanctuary of rosiness
Crown or not, she merits the throne
Gold or not, she sparkles in darkness
Like ruminants, we excavate her walls for nine months
Yet she pushes with teary joy
Her ecdysis enlivens and spawns life
She is a lamb that lays life for lives.
