In Mamma’s eyes, I’m one in a thousand.
For me, she’ll move heaven and earth;
Into the inferno and back, she’ll descend
To release from earth’s devilry, her wean.
Exuding pure love adorns her like the sun’s radiance.
O’er her existence, her one desire for her kid,
The unsullied love that Earth’s waters can’t quench.
With arduously blemished and battered hands
From her labours, tenderness is still present.
Skill and eloquence she possesses;
Truth to the heart her lips impart,
In quest of her nipper’s blossom to perfection.
Fierce like the mother hen is her care:
Who dares lay a finger upon her nestling without her saying so?
Advanced in age, I remain her treasured baby.
Tis Thanatos to tempt her resoluteness.
Ere you appal, tis death you seek,
Plucking her fledgling from her breast.
Have you eaten? Her first words.
Have you been truthful? Her request to know.
Have you been open? Her desire for thee.
Thoughts of mamma inundate my soul,
Into oblivion they can’t fade,
For they transcend space and time.
