In Creative Corner, poetry

It is lovely that we kiss
It is just this kiss that I hate.
From the kiss_ the lips, the tongue_
The grip, the cuddle, the mingle.

After tonight, this kiss will be pain.

Mustafa Khan AbdurahmanMy name is Mustafa Khan Abdurahman, an interdisciplinary artist who communes with nature. Professionally, I am a visual artist majoring in painting, drawing, sculpture, as well as a secondary school art teacher; further into the specifics of my artistic personality, I do poetry which I also use to render mind-opening discourses. I am a musician, and I also love architectural works.

The body of my work navigates a specific sense of; identity, aesthetic grip of physical nature, and social conditioning. It seeks to explore the diversities of existence throughout life and the nature around us, the latter and the former hold attributes from which our material and at times spiritual identities tend to be forged, an aspect that clearly gets my attention.

I often embed; message, emotion, and interactive paradigms which keep engaging the mind throughout the process of encoding and decoding the “whys” there is to ask. This pattern of operation however keeps changing because change is a natural aspect across all existence_ I too undergo it all the time through the processes of learning and unlearning.

Poetry is like the breeze, or the breath, or the walk, or the way one speaks, or the way one laughs, loves, eats, feels, breaks down…. Poetry is a language not only understood through words but widely through all ways creation rhymes and contrasts itself.
